Our Story

Lost Pet Services began as a Facebook group, Lost and Found Pets 941 (Lost Pet Services), when its Founder, Patty Giarrusso, lost her two dogs, Jackson Browne and Rocko.  Thankfully, they were found safe, and she then embarked on a mission. That mission has led to this organization being the largest, most active lost and found organization in Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte Counties area, covering Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish, Ellenton, Venice, Northport, Myakka and areas beyond. The group has grown to over 57,500 members and grows by 100s new members monthly.  Lost Pet Services has helped to successfully reunite 1,000s of local pets with their owners.

Our programs provide that safety net for companion pets in a medical crisis when owners cannot afford vital treatments or for pets found injured by unknown owners. This program helps us save lives.

We never want an owner to be faced with the heartbreaking decision of having to euthanize their beloved pet simply due to financial issues.  Our program assures family pets in crisis get necessary, life-saving treatment.

Since 2018, we have provided over $260,000 in medical financial aid to owned pets and strays.  We have helped reunite over 29,000 local pets with their owners.

Our Facebook business page, Lost Pet Services, has over 7,500 followers; our Facebook group, Lost and Found Pets 941 (Lost Pet Services), has over 57,500 followers; our website is visited by thousands each year; and our radio show reaches thousands every month.

LPS aims to keep loved pets out of overcrowded shelters and happy, healthy, and home where they belong, sparing their families the devastating loss of their loved companion animal simply due to personal finances.

Our organization does not receive any federal, state, or county funding.  We rely solely on donations, grants, and fundraising to further our mission of caring for sick, injured, and abandoned pets in Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties.

We are passionate animal lovers and pet protectors.

We exist because too many pet owners have experienced these tragic situations and we want it to end.  We exist to help save pets' lives.
