Sebastian

Hurrican Ian Survivor

Sebastian

After Hurrican Ian, Sebastian, who had gone missing right before the storm, somehow managed to find his way back home dragging his back legs. We aren't sure if he was hit by a car or something fell on him during the storm.

His owner needed help and we had them get to the ER vet. Initially, things looked bleak and Angela messaged Patty to say they were going to put him to sleep. After the vet saw how distraught the family was and knowing there was funding pledged for him, they decided to wait for 24 hours to see if he could survive the night.

Thankfully, Sebastian is a fighter and he did. He was suffering from a diaphragmatic hernia and multiple rib fractures and needed emergency surgery. Sebastian's owner was able to give everything she had but needed more. We were happy to help save Sebastian's life.

Angela was very thankful to Lost Pet Services, "A sweet lady named Patty is helping me with the vet bill; she's a blessing from God."

Funding was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County through their Animal Welfare Grant Program with funding made possible by the Martha Leiter and Nancy Streetman Fund I and Robert Parker Fund.
